Heritage Society Meeting and Program

The Irving Heritage Society and the Irving Public Library invite the public to join them on Sunday, October 28, at 2:30pm in the South Library, 601 Schulze Drive. Lt. Col. Bruce A. Bleakley, USAF (Ret.), aviation author and historian will present his program “D/FW Airport: From Ranch and Farm to Airport.” This will include an overview of the formation of the D/FW Airport and its metamorphosis into a multibillion-dollar economic engine for North Texas.

Lt. Col. Bleakley is the former Executive Director of the San Diego Aerospace Museum as well as former Museum Director of the Frontiers of Flight Museum at Love Field in Dallas. He has written a number of books on the history of aviation in North Texas.
